The time has come for us to change Leave behind all the wars we've waged The lines in our faces betray us The cracks beneath our feet condemn us We'll be buried alone with only our names We'll turn to dust with only our shame Trapped in a ghost net we Are designed to make lies sound truthful All day long we engorge In a paradise forged so brutal We need our other's pain To fuel our fragile function We need to make it rain But we just bring destruction Truth be told we're lost In the end we kill what we love We take what we want And we kill what we love The world was our playground Ran around with fears set in clay We chose to cover it in sadness Damnation is one daydream away The time has come for us to change Leave behind all the wars we've waged The bitter end has come again With forest fires While we hang from our wires With thoughts and prayers We look up to the stars Will we ever stop to see ourselves People don't like humans anymore Cheap thrills is what we ask for Like an abusive lover Every time we say we loved her Truth be told we're lost In the end we kill what we love We kill what we love Truth be told we're lost In the end we kill what we love We kill what we love We take what we want And we kill what we love We take what we want And we kill what we love Oh love

about

"We take what we want and we kill what we love" - this is the mantra that seems to guide the darker sides of our modern world. From the damage we do to our planet to the way we treat each other, both offline and online. The world was our playground, but we let our fear, avarice and selfishness guide us, leading to an environmental and emotional wasteland. We have grown apart, we must come together for a better future.
